Padsabroad History

In the summer of 2008, while visiting Copenhagen, Ramy observed a significant event that shaped his future career. At a shopping mall, he noticed a long queue outside an electronics store. Curious, he learned that the store had declared bankruptcy and was selling its products at nearly a 75% discount. The reason, he was told, was the mortgage crisis in the United States — a global financial event that also caused Spain’s real estate market to crash.

This experience inspired Ramy to leave his position in the tourism industry and pursue a new career in real estate, recognizing the immense potential this sector held worldwide. Later that year, he began working in Hurghada, on Egypt’s Red Sea, as a Sales Executive for a new off-plan project named Florenza Khamsin. Within one year, he was promoted to Sales Manager, and subsequently to Director of Sales, a role he held until March 2013. During this period, he successfully sold out Phase One of the project — despite the economic and political challenges Egypt faced during the 2011 revolution.

In 2010, while still with Florenza Khamsin, Ramy and seven partners entered into a joint venture with a local landowner to develop a small compound in the north of Hurghada, in the Al-Ahiaa district — a promising but then undeveloped desert area. The first development sold primarily to British buyers. Encouraged by this success, he launched a second nearby project named JOYA, which was also sold to British clients and completed construction in 2012.

In 2015, Ramy co-founded PadsAbroad Ltd in the United Kingdom with his partner Jasmin Bux, who had originally been one of his clients, having purchased a property in JOYA in 2011. Recognizing her potential, Ramy partnered with her to expand internationally. That year, he began selling real estate in multiple countries, focusing mainly on Spain — particularly Marbella, Almería, Murcia, Alicante, Benidorm, and the Canary Islands (Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria, and Tenerife). He also managed property sales in Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, and Cyprus.

By the end of 2018, after several years of intensive international work and extensive travel, Ramy decided to refocus on the Egyptian market. He concentrated his efforts on Hurghada, Sahl Hasheesh, and Port Ghalib, where he secured several exclusive projects and became recognized as one of the leading agents in the region.

In Port Ghalib, he successfully sold all developments owned by the Al Kharafi Group, the original founders of Port Ghalib.

In 2019, after many years of continuous work, Ramy took a one-year sabbatical in Bali, Indonesia, to recharge and regain focus, while his company continued operating in Egypt.

Upon returning to Egypt on April 28, 2020, during the COVID-19 lockdown, he contacted Pyramisa Group, one of the largest developers in Sahl Hasheesh. Due to his strong professional reputation and proven track record, Pyramisa appointed him as exclusive agent for three of their projects — Sunset Pearl, Paradise Gardens, and Bay View. This was a remarkable achievement, as Pyramisa had never previously signed exclusive agreements with any agent in Hurghada. Despite the global slowdown caused by the pandemic, Ramy took the risk, launched the sales campaigns, and achieved excellent results.

At the same time, he signed another exclusive agreement to sell a specific number of units in Florenza Khamsin, which had seen no sales for six months. Through his efforts, he quickly achieved the agreed sales targets, contributing to the revival of Hurghada’s property market after the pandemic.

In 2022, Ramy secured another exclusive project — La Cascata in Port Ghalib — developed by a new, visionary, and trustworthy developer. The project became a major success, reaching 92% sales completion. Building on that momentum, the same developer launched a new project, La Cascata Aqua, in 2024 to continue expanding within the region.

Since 2008, Ramy has sold a significant number of properties across Hurghada, Sahl Hasheesh, Makadi Bay, and Port Ghalib, including the northern areas of Hurghada, where he was among the first agents to take the risk of selling in undeveloped desert areas while most others focused on the city center.

Over the years, many foreign real estate agents who entered the Hurghada market were either Ramy’s clients or professionals he personally recruited and trained. His leadership, resilience, and deep market understanding have positioned him as one of the most experienced and respected figures in the Red Sea real estate sector.

Today, most developers in Hurghada and the Red Sea region consult Ramy for guidance before launching new projects. They rely on his expertise for pricing strategies, project design feedback, and market statistics, recognizing his strong grasp of market trends and buyer behavior. His insights play a key role in shaping new developments and ensuring their commercial success.
